ABOUT ME
Hello! My name is Ronald Sit and I am a director and storyboard artist for animation and live action content. My favorite genres to work in are sci-fi, fantasy, and grimdark. I find the most enjoyment and inspiration from animated short films and features such as with films like Akira and Princess Mononoke as well as the animated anthology Love Death + Robots and Andor.
The most important element I strive to incorporate into my works is the lingering sense of perseverance. To me, art is an incredible tool that serves as a reflection of who the artist really is. Manufacturing is easy, but creation with intention and care becomes exponentially harder. Everything about art to me is a time capsule embodying the struggle within us to create, as well as the triumph and satisfaction that follows from well deserved success. My philosophy with art isn’t to diminish our flaws, rather to accept and learn from them in order to be our best selves.
It’s through this perspective of perseverance that I choose to create. I want to imagine towering megastructures and complex machinations inconceivable to the naked eye. To envision worlds far beyond our capabilities that test the limitations of the body and mind. I want to place the audience in the perspective of the underdog, where the world throws everything it can to prevent their success, only to fuel their desire and eventual victory. My goal as an artist is to inspire a sense of perseverance within my art, so the audience understands adversity is a constant and to keep moving forward regardless.
